Publication Ethics

1. Instructions for Authors

Submission Guidelines
Curevance (CVN) welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, short communications, case reports, and letters to the editor in all areas of biomedical, clinical, and public health sciences.

Manuscript Types

  • Original Articles: Full-length research papers (2,500–5,000 words)

  • Systematic Reviews & Meta-analyses: Structured reviews of current evidence (up to 6,000 words)

  • Case Reports: Novel or educational clinical cases (1,500–2,500 words)

  • Short Communications: Brief reports of significant findings (1,000–1,500 words)

  • Letters to the Editor: Constructive feedback, critique, or commentary (up to 1,000 words)

General Format

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.

  • Language: English, clear and grammatically correct.

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point, double-spaced.

  • Include title page, abstract, keywords, main text, references, and any figures/tables.

Abstract and Keywords

  • Provide a structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion) not exceeding 300 words.

  • Include 3–6 keywords using MeSH terms where appropriate.

References

  • Use Vancouver style for citations.

  • Include DOIs or direct URLs for all references where available.

Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving human or animal subjects must include ethics committee approval and informed consent as applicable.

  • Authors must adhere to COPE and ICMJE guidelines.

2. Editorial Process

Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors. Suitable submissions are assigned to two or more independent reviewers through a double-blind peer review process.

Review Timeline

  • Initial decision: Within 7–10 days

  • Peer review: Completed in 4–6 weeks

  • Final decision: Based on reviewers’ reports and editor evaluation

Editorial Decisions

Possible decisions include:

  • Accept

  • Minor revision

  • Major revision

  • Reject

Revisions

Authors are expected to submit revised manuscripts within 2 weeks for minor and 4 weeks for major revisions. Extensions may be granted upon request.

Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification, which will be independently reviewed by a senior editor.

3. Licensing and Copyright

Open Access License

All articles published in Curevance are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

This license allows:

  • Sharing: Copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format

  • Adaptation: Remixing, transforming, and building upon the material for any purpose, even commercially
    — as long as appropriate credit is given, and changes are indicated.

Copyright Policy

Authors retain full copyright of their work. Upon acceptance, authors grant Curevance the right of first publication under the CC BY 4.0 license. The journal does not require a copyright transfer.
